Welcome to the Young Chef’s Workshop. Get ready to create 6 dishes that teach cooking skills and techniques you can use to make additional recipes on your own. Learn culinary vocabulary, kitchen safety, ingredients and gain confidence in a 6 hour hands-on weekend workshop at our C&K farmhouse kitchen. Parents are invited to sample their young chef's work in the last 30 minutes of class each day. What to expect: The workshop is hands-on and taught by Francesca. Students will receive a folder of printed recipes, vocabulary & notes. Students will work together in pairs. Snacks and drinks are provided. Students will enjoy dishes as we complete them. Parents are invited to attend the last 30 minutes of class to sample what we made that day. Each class is three hours long, 10 am to 1 PM, on Saturday & Sunday. Minimum of 4 students needed for class to run. Maximum number of students is 8. Please come ready to stand and work for 2 ½ hours. Please wear comfortable closed- toe flat shoes. Short sleeves are recommended. Please tie back or pin up hair. Rice Pilaf Learn knife skills, stovetop cooking, about rice Vegetables Learn how to balance a meal, create a menu for interest and excitement, understand how flavors, colors and textures work together. Lemon Granita Learn zesting, juicing, syrup making, technique, presentation.
